Sometimes you want to add a little emphasis to certain words in your messages. If you’re a WhatsApp user, you can add four types of emphasis, either inline or from a menu.

The types of formatting you can apply in a WhatsApp message are bold, italics, strikethrough , and monospacing. To manually apply the formatting, you need to place a particular punctuation mark on either side of a word (or series of words):

  • Bold: Place an asterisk on either side (*bold*).
  • Italicize: Place an underscore on either side (_italic_).
  • Strikethrough: Place a tilde on either side (

).

  • Monospace: Place three back ticks on either side ( “`monospace“` ).
  • When you send your message, the text will be displayed with the chosen formatting.

If you’re not big on typing—especially if you want to use monospace (the back tick is often hidden away on smartphone keyboards)—you can also use the built-in formatting menu.

Long press the word you want to format and the menu will appear. In the case of Android, the Bold option will already be visible. To access the other formatting options, tap the three dots on the right side of the menu or the BIU option on the menu for iPhone.

Advanced users will love to use this method to format their messages text. Whenever you want to format a selected part or whole message in WhatsApp, do as following:

    • To make the text Bold, insert an asterisk (*) before and after the desired text. Example: *This text is bold*

    Nice trick. Thanks.

mine doesn’t have the automatic way. when I tap & hold the text there are only search icon, cut, copy and share. Any explanation?? I’m on version 2.19.53

^^ You are using the latest version. The options do appear on the same WhatsApp version in my mobile phone. You need to tap on 3 vertical dots icon present at the right-side of the toolbar to get those options.

Nope, there are no 3 dots or MORE on the right side believe me… it is kinda strange. Perhaps I can give you screenshot on twitter?

^^ I checked your screenshot on Twitter. The toolbar in your screenshot looks different. Which mobile phone are you using?

    Xiaomi Redmi 4A.

^^ It seems Xiaomi is showing their own toolbar instead of default WhatsApp/Android toolbar. That’s why you are not getting the options.

was the only that worked thanks a lot vg need more updates

How to format your whatsapp messages

Unless you’re a WhatsApp pro user, you may be surprised to know that there are text formatting options that you can apply to your messages. Markdown characters can help you emphasize certain words or phrases by making them italicized or bold, and it’ll even let you cross out words and change the font. It’s one of those nice touches that isn’t available in most other messaging apps.

The feature is available for both iOS and Android devices, and there are minuscule differences between the two. In older WhatsApp versions, Android phones had more options that an iPhone would, but now it’s pretty much the same across the board. So make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of WhatsApp for Android or iOS to get the most out of formatting text in your chats.

    Using Markdown for Formatting

For both Android and iOS devices, WhatsApp lets you format your messages with italics, bold, and strikethrough text just by typing special characters before and after the text in your message. The use of these special characters is referred to as markdown. You can even turn the regular font into a monospaced font with the right syntax. Here’s how you do it:

    • Type an underscore ( _ ) on both sides of a word or phrase to italicize it. Example: _word_ would end up as word.
    • Type an asterisk ( * ) on both sides of a word or phrase to make it bold. Example: *word* would end up as word.
    • Type a tilde (

) on both sides of a word or phrase to cross out the text. Example:

would add a strikethrough to it.

  • Type three grave accents, aka backquotes or backticks ( “` ), on both sides of a word or phrase to use the monospace font. Example “`word“` would show up in the new font.
  • WhatsApp for both mobile operating systems displays a live preview of text attributes as you type, so you can see precisely how messages will show up in their formatted state when sent. And you can combine italics, bold, and strikethroughs if you want, but if you apply monospace to any other formatted text, it will cancel it out since monospace removes all formatting when the font changes.

Using the Contextual Menu for Formatting Instead

In addition to the markdown formatting option, both the Android and iOS app contains a simple contextual menu where you can select bold, italic, strikethrough, or monospace. On Android, long-press your target word then drag the beginning and ending selectors to highlight more words or characters if needed. On iOS, you can do that too, but you can also double-tap the word instead to see the selection.

Next, on Android, tap vertical ellipsis from the contextual menu that pops up, then select your formatting option. On iOS, tap the “BIU” item from the contextual menu, then choose your formatting option. The markdown characters will automatically apply for your selected attribute.

How to format your whatsapp messages How to format your whatsapp messages

As you can see, formatting text messages is straightforward in WhatsApp, whether you choose markdown or the contextual menu. And you can still use underscores, asterisks, tildes, and grave accents by themselves. If there is only one character for each, it’ll show up as that character.

Using Multiple Characters Without Applying Formatting

There is no way to turn of WhatsApp’s text formatting with these markdown characters. If you need to show two of the same characters in the message but don’t want to change the format, there aren’t many options.

For bold, italic, and strikethrough, you can use one or all of them to format the entire message, then add a character in between where you need them as necessary. It’s not the best workaround, but that’s where the monospaced text comes in. Use that, and none of the other characters for bold, italic, or strikethrough will work, letting you place as many of those markdown characters as you want without applying those special attributes.

How to Make a WhatsApp Link with message content

In this article, you will learn about how to create a WhatsApp link that can automatically display messages on the WhatsApp application. This certainly can help the user by giving a message in a template, so there is no need to bother to make another sentence when contacting you. Before starting this step, make sure the phone number is registered as a WhatsApp account.

Following is an example of the number that will be used as the WhatsApp link that contains the message.

    Add phone numbers

To add a phone number, you can add it after slash wa.me like the example above. Please note, if you only add the telephone number without encoding text, then the link will still be direct to the WhatsApp phone number that is being addressed but without the contents of the message. If you only want to include a phone number, then the example will be like this

    Add Text

To load text after a number like the link above, there are 2 ways you can use it here. First, you can write your own manually. Second, you can use a third party website to create text.

    First step

You can create text that will automatically appear when * user * clicks the WhatsApp link. In this text there are two things you need to know, namely how to add spaces and replace lines.

Space: To add space in the text you want to create, use %20. For example, you want to write ‘Hi how are you?’, It will be ‘Hi%20how%20are20you?’.

Change line: To replace lines in the text that you created, use %0A. Suppose you want to write it like this

    ‘Hello Nadine. How are you’

Then you can write it like this ‘Hello%20Nadine%0Ahow%20are%20you%0A’

The two pre texts above are the most basic and easy to understand. There are still many different pre texts because if you use symbols like question marks (?) Or exclamation points (!) And so on, they have different pre text. If you really want to add symbols, you can try the second method.

    Second Way

You can use third party web assistance as stated below. This method can be an alternative if you want an easier process in making pre text without the need to write manually like the first way. Here are the steps:

    1. You can access the web Encode here to compose a message.
    2. Create the message you want, then click the ‘Encode’ button.
    3. Copy the encode code, then paste after the symbol (=) like the example link above.

After that the WhatsApp link that you create will automatically be directed to your WhatsApp number, along with the message that was created earlier. You can use the link in the Email marketing button, or on your Page button so that when someone sees it and wants to contact you, it will make it easier for them to communicate with you.

    Location Messages with WhatsApp

The Twilio API for WhatsApp supports sending and receiving GPS location data in messages to and from WhatsApp users.

Facebook does not support location messaging in WhatsApp Message Templates at this time. Twilio Conversations also does not support location messaging functionality at this time. To send and receive location messages with WhatsApp, you’ll need to use session messages leveraging the API or Twilio’s helper libraries.

    Send outbound location messages

Sending outbound location messages over WhatsApp is similar to sending a text-based message, with the addition of the PersistentAction parameter in your Twilio API requests. Outbound location messages must include the following information:

The name of the location being sent.(Location must exist in Google maps for the hyperlink to work on Mac/Windows WhatsApp client)

Send a WhatsApp message with location information

Your user should receive a message that looks like this:

    Receive inbound location messages

You can also receive inbound location messages with the Twilio API for WhatsApp.

Locations do not appear in the Twilio Console at this time. However, your web application will receive the location data in the POST request that Twilio sends. This data will be included in the HTTP POST request for the incoming message that we send to your webhook.

You will be able to access the following parameters in the POST request values Twilio sends to your application when you receive a WhatsApp location message:

    • Latitude
    • Longitude
    • Address
    • Label

    Location Message Types

There are two types of location that users can send with WhatsApp: Current Location and Live Location. Live Location is not currently supported by the WhatsApp Business API.

Current Location is a static type of content, similar to a timestamp. This means the location information you receive from a user indicates where the user was in that particular moment in time when they triggered the “send location” action.

Below is a sample payload containing location information. Please note that the Body= parameter is not required for inbound messages.

Preview weblinks in freeform WhatsApp messages

Yes, there is also a limitation while sending chats via E-mail from WhatsApp. But that depends on one factor that is whether you select to include the media or not. To make it clear:

    • With Media – If you include the media, then it will allow you to send only the previous 10,000 messages from the conversations. And in case the number of media files are more than the number of messages can be much lesser than that. The chats and media will then be downloaded in a zip file.

How do I convert/export WhatsApp chat (by chat person/group) to PDF/Excel/ HTML so that I can open it in a computer? I’ve tried several methods:

Manual way using screenshot and stitching it using Android app. To be honest, I really don’t want using this method. It’s the most cumbersome way.

The preferred way, using an app called Backup Text for Whats. This app is the one that has the most feature that I know about. It can filter to backup WhatsApp chat based on person/group chat, and can even convert all your chat to the desired format. It can convert to HTML (which can then be converted to PDF including the images downloaded), Excel (and download images separately), or even text. It’s most versatile app that I know about when it comes to backing up whatsapp messages. You needed to install Tri-Crypt first to use it. My Android is 4.2, but now with the current WhatsApp version, it is not functioning. I don’t know why.

Does anyone know any other method? Has anybody tried Backup Text for Whats app and why is it not functioning anymore?

Note: whatever the method, it should maintain how it is displayed in WhatsApp, if possible.

Fortunately for you, WhatsApp actually has a built-in option for this. No need for third party apps!

WhatsApp has an option called “email chat” which converts your chat into a word document containing all conversation with a specific person or group.

Simply open WhatsApp, press on the conversation you’d like to backup. Open the menu on top right, press on “more” ->” email chat” it will ask you if you want to include your media or not. It will then bring you to your email app where you can select a recipient. You can choose yourself as the receiver. After you receive the email, You’ll be able to open the conversation as a word document.

Depending on the app you use to view word documents, you should have an option to save as PDF.

This is how it will be displayed in your word document:

    2/2/18, 03:55 – jack: text

Emojis will be included in the word document. Media and voice notes will be sent in a separate file.

Not the Android stuff, but I wrote an extension for the Chrome browser that helps you save messages to your PC from WhatsApp Web.

If you check the ‘try grabbing media’ checkbox it will also fetch all the media that were ever sent in a chat.

It will create a ZIP archive with all your messages and media, easy to open and read in your browser. It will have the same look as WhatsApp Web.

Here’s the link to the extension: Backup WhatsApp Chats Chrome Store If it doesn’t work, you can try a developer version Backup WhatsApp Chats Dev version

Dude, I was looking for answer similar to your question, and what I just figured out, that works at least for me, is is via directly selecting the text in the chat I want to export, and then click on the “print” option.

You know. like printing to a pdf file.

It worked just fine to export the formatted text (that was what I was looking for specifically)

How to format your whatsapp messages

Not sure about Excel, but WhatsApp allows you to export an individual or group chat to a text file. You just need to open a conversation that you’d like to export and tap More > Export Chat. Then, you can open the text file with MS Word and save it as PDF or html. Please note that formatting will get little messed up.

If you’d like to directly export WhatsApp conversations to a PDF or HTML, you will need a a third party desktop application like the one mentioned in this guide. Your chats will be displayed in a similar way they appear on the WhatsApp messenger app. I personally tried it to document and print my WhatsApp conversations for some legal problem. This is how it works:

    • Install the app on your Windows computer on Mac.
    • Enable the USB debugging mode on the Android device.
    • Backup all the chats to your phone’s storage or SD card.
    • Connect your phone to your computer and let the load your WhatsApp conversation.
    • Right-click on the conversation you’d wish to export and select “Export messages to file.”

Note: I have no affiliation with the linked product. The software is paid. With the free version, you can only export a couple of messages per conversation/contact. You need to put the software to export more messages.

Though WhatsApp faced some problems recently due to privacy issue and long outage, the instant-messaging still remains as one of the most used chatting app in India.

Users enjoy chatting on WhatsApp as it has many fun feature. It also introduces new features in a regular interval for its users.

WhatsApp users can use these feature to add a different look to their texts as per their need. Users can write their messages in bold or italic or use GIFs or stickers in their chat as well.

However, you can’t write text in different colours as it is not available in WhatsApp. But, you can do it by using third party apps like Color Texting Messenger, Cool Fonts For WhatsApp And Text or WhatsBlue Text. You can download these for free. But, note that these apps will show advertisements.

Here’s how you can change the WhatsApp font color of chats and status.

Which app do you need to change font color on WhatsApp?

There are a many third party apps that will help you to achieve this, such as ‘Color Texting Messenger’, ‘Cool Fonts For WhatsApp And Text’ or ‘WhatsBlue Text’.

For example, ‘WhatsBlue Text’ app has a ‘Fancy Text’ option that allows you to change the font style and color of the chat and status. The Fancy Text option lets users type the message in various different formats, including in blue text.

How to chage the colour of your WhatsApp Message

If you want to change the colour and style of your WhatsApp chat text then follow the steps below.

    • Type a text message in the app.
    • Choose the style or color you want.
    • Then the app will show you different options for using this text.
    • Click on the ‘WhatsApp’ option.
    • Send the message to a contact in the messaging app.

How do you change the color of your WhatsApp status?

If you want to change the colour of your WhatsApp staus text then you can do it using ‘WhatsBlue Text’ app. The process is the same as the above steps but instead of sending it to a contact you can send it to ‘My Status’.

That means you should click on ‘My Status’ after clicking on the WhatsApp option in the third party app.

You can make your Status more colorful by changing the background colour which you can do from whatsApp itself. When all is ready, you can click on the send button.

There are other ways to change the text colour of Whatsapp messages but it takes too much time thats why most people prefer to use third party apps.

Yes, it’s possible to take organized notes on WhatsApp or message someone on WhatsApp without saving their number in your contacts list.

We often receive WhatsApp messages from our friends or family members in the form of a listicle(probably of grocery items) or maybe in the form of a jotted text paragraph.

These messages serve no meaning to the receiver, rather they are only the jotted notes taken by the sender; that are sent out to friends or family members with the mere purpose of keeping the records.

Sometimes people, often become annoyed by receiving such texts from others; especially when they’re expecting a WhatsApp message from a special person but to their dismay, the chanted WhatsApp ringtone chime returns them not what they were expecting, but a useless ‘record maintaining’ message from someone else.

It has happened with me and so I know it’s annoyingly painstaking enough at times to keep calm, deliberately forcing people to burst out their anger on others.

I’ve seen people heated up on this matter beyond my expectations. So much so forth that they end up breaking relations with the ‘record maintaining’ message sender party. Even though it sounds a bit exaggerated but, anger really makes one do the unexpected, which is going to the extent of losing friends.

What I don’t understand is that why people don’t use the Notepad app on their mobile phones to take notes? Why use WhatsApp when you’ve got the notepad built-in app on your smartphone?

I figured the answer to the question when I myself used WhatsApp to text a ‘record maintaing’ message, during my academics, to a best friend’s number specifically because I knew that later if I ever needed any information out of that paragraphic record, where to look for it was evident to me — that is my best friend’s specific chat. It was easier for me to remember my friend’s name than memorizing the whole paragraph so I did just that.

So, most of the time people send out ‘record maintaining’ texts to their close friends or family members because then they know under what name they could refer back to their valuable information whenever needed.

Additionally, most of the time it so happens that you compose a lengthy informational message to share with your contacts, and before sending it out, you’d like to check how it’ll appear as a single text on a smartphone screen — message appearance checking. In such cases too, people first send the text to their closed ones and then after making sure of its appearance and content, send it out in bulk.

However, WhatsApp does enable its users to better organize their notes or records by allowing them to send WhatsApp messages to themselves. That way, you won’t have to send your ‘record maintaining’ or ‘appearance checking’ texts to other contacts unnecessarily. Just send it out to yourself and save others from the annoyance of receiving almost null messages.

Here’s the step-by-step guide on how to message yourself on WhatsApp.

    1. First, make sure your smartphone has access to the internet connection.
    2. Go to your browser(can be any one of all available) and type in the following:

How to format your whatsapp messages

Hit on the search button and it will redirect you to a window as shown:

How to format your whatsapp messages

Click on that green button and it will directly take you to the WhatsApp chat screen where you can start messaging yourself and take notes. Once you initiate the chat this way with your own WhatsApp number, you won’t have to repeat these steps every time you want to message yourself unless you delete your chat.

The exact same procedure is followed for either of the web versions: mobile or desktop. Similarly, if you want to message someone without saving their number in your contact list, you can follow the exact same procedure, provided the number you’re trying to send a WhatsApp message has WhatsApp set-up against that number.

How to use a WhatsApp Business message template and WhatsApp interactive buttons to increase customer engagement.

    Senior Product Marketing Manager

In July 2020, WhatsApp released a new form of notification templates: Interactive Message Templates (also known as WhatsApp Interactive Buttons). Here we’ll explore what these templates look like and how to use them to increase customer engagement.

First though, it’s worth reiterating the business benefits of a WhatsApp marketing strategy.

Used by 2 billion consumers in more than 180 countries, WhatsApp is the customer communication channel of choice for many businesses. 61% of customers say that messaging is the easiest, most convenient way to contact a business, and WhatsApp Business API enables medium and large enterprises to talk to customers on their favorite chat app.

It’s no surprise then that businesses of all kinds are using WhatsApp to provide customer support – either through a chatbot or live agent – and send proactive notifications, such as back in stock notifications, monthly reports, receipts, and more, as part of their WhatsApp marketing strategy.

The interactive message template is designed to make it easier to support these efforts and increase your customer engagement. Let’s take a look.

What is a WhatsApp Business message template?

A WhatsApp message template provides a way to proactively reach out to your customers using WhatsApp notifications.

Notifications are templated messages that are pre-approved by WhatsApp. Using WhatsApp Business message templates is a must when reaching out to customers on WhatsApp since they ensure a high-quality messaging experience and prevent marketing spam.

You can create different message templates, depending on your business needs. These include:

    • Simple, text-only notifications, such as account statuses or delivery reminders.
    • Rich media notifications, such as e-receipts, boarding passes, and onboarding videos.
    • (NEW) Interactive notifications with buttons that direct customers to perform an action, such as visiting your site, contacting your support team, or scheduling an appointment.

Did you know you can only send message templates to customers who gave their consent during the opt-in process? Learn more about how to collect WhatsApp opt-ins.

    What are WhatsApp Interactive Buttons?

Want a customer to call you? Visit your website? Or maybe you want their feedback so you can serve them better next time? With WhatsApp buttons, your customers can take the desired action with a single click.

Businesses using WhatsApp to contact customers can share the same level of information as they could with plain text and media message templates, while also using one-click responses to navigate customers through the entire journey.

    Types of WhatsApp Interactive Buttons

There are two types of WhatsApp interactive button options to choose from:

    1. WhatsApp call to action buttons

Use WhatsApp call to action buttons to direct consumers to your website, or connect them to your contact center.

Call to action button templates can have a maximum of two buttons, and support these two actions:

    • Call phone number: enable your customers to call your customer support team with one click.
    • Visit website: direct customers to a specific part of your website. You can choose to set a fixed or dynamic URL.

You can also use them to complete query-specific actions, such as activating a new card or tracking a package.

    2. WhatsApp quick reply buttons

Use predefined WhatsApp quick reply buttons to receive instant replies from customers.

Quick reply button templates can have up to three buttons in one message, and the button text is always predefined.

Quick reply buttons also give you the opportunity to track responses and react accordingly – for example, you can send a notification to inform a customer about your new service offering, and give them quick reply options such as:

    • Tell me more
    • Schedule an appointment
    • Not interested

Then, you can segment your customers based on their level of interest.

The business benefits of a WhatsApp Business message template

Notifications with either type of buttons can be text-only, or you can combine them with different media – documents (pdf), images, videos, location, and more.

The options are numerous and depend on your business needs, but regardless of the combination you choose, the expected result is the same – complete, valuable information in one single message.

    Real-time customer service and support

Using clickable buttons turns one-way notifications into fast, two-way customer communication.

Now, you can give customers a chance to react to your notifications, receive relevant information, ask for support, or perform an action in just one click – minimizing customer effort and increasing engagement.

This brings a layer of interactivity that helps customers stay connected with your business across their entire journey.

Easy to tailor your customer communications

WhatsApp Interactive Buttons make it easy to track customer responses and later segment customers based on their preferences.

This can help you tailor your communication so you can provide the best possible experience on your customers’ channel of choice – and as a result, increase overall customer satisfaction.

    Start using WhatsApp Business API

WhatsApp is becoming the one-stop-shop for business-to-customer interactions. With different types of message templates, businesses can adjust their communication to fit their needs and meet customer expectations. From awareness to retention, WhatsApp enables you to build customer relationships that last.

A WhatsApp link in your email signature, website or blog? Why not! Such a link will allow other people to contact you via a WhatsApp message or call. In today’s world, we tend to shorten the distance in interactions between companies and customers or business partners. Also, we now have many different communication channels at our disposal, the most popular being email, phone calls and social media messaging apps. So, how about extending your contact opportunities? In this blog post, I will show you how to create and add a WhatsApp link to an email signature, but feel free to use your WhatsApp link anywhere else.

How to format your whatsapp messages

A WhatsApp logo or a linked text in your email signature

If you want to let other people know you are using WhatsApp, you can either add a WhatsApp logo or a simple hyperlinked text like “WhatsApp” or “Contact me on WhatsApp” to your email signature. How you do it depends on your personal preferences and on the email signature design policies in your organization.

If you need a WhatsApp icon for your email signature, you can use one of those provided below (right-click on it and select “Save picture as” to download it to your computer). Each WhatsApp icon is in .png format:

    Create a WhatsApp link

You don’t need to use any WhatsApp link generator to get your own link. To create a WhatsApp link, you just need to use your phone number in the following link format:

To have a working link, all you need to do is replace all the X symbols with your phone number.

Important: Type your phone number without spaces or special characters like brackets, hyphens or the plus sign. For example, if your phone number is (+28) 202-555-000, you should provide it as 28202555000, so that the link looks like this:

You can now add the WhatsApp link to images or text in your emails, websites, blogs and more. Read on to learn how to add it to your email signatures.

Add a WhatsApp link to your email signature template

Once you have your WhatsApp link ready, it’s time to use it in your email signature template. The process of adding links is identical for the WhatsApp icon and for the hyperlinked text.

    1. Open the email signature template in your email signature editor. Then, add a WhatsApp logo or text and link it using the created link, as shown below. In this example I’m using the editor that comes with CodeTwo Email Signatures for Office 365.
How to format your whatsapp messages
    2. Highlight the WhatsApp logo or text and click the link icon in your template editor. In my example, it looks like this (it should look similar in any editor you might be using):
    3. Enter your WhatsApp link in the new window that opens.
How to format your whatsapp messages
    4. Save changes and test your new email signature template to make sure the link works as expected.

When recipients click the link in your signature, they should be able to contact you directly via WhatsApp on their mobiles, either via a text message or a phone call.

How to format your whatsapp messages

Note: If the recipient doesn’t have the WhatsApp app installed on their mobile, they will be asked to download one before continuing.

If the recipient opens the link on a desktop, they should see something like this:

How to format your whatsapp messages

To send a message simply follow the instructions on the screen.

Note: To use WhatsApp on a computer, you actually need WhatsApp on your mobile to access WhatsApp Web from it. Then, you will be asked to scan a QR code on the computer screen to synchronize contacts and conversations from your mobile to desktop. You can also download WhatsApp for Mac or Windows PC.

That’s it. From now on, you, your customers and business partners can enjoy fast and direct communication provided by the WhatsApp messaging app.

    • 1. Access Google Drive backup
    • 2. Access iCloud backup
    • 3. Read WhatsApp backup

About a week ago, as I was talking to someone on WhatsApp, it paused.

A message was displayed on the screen saying that WhatsApp is backing up the chats. That got me thinking about where the WhatsApp backup is stored on iCloud Drive or Google Drive, and is there any way that we can access it and see what’s actually inside a WhatsApp backup?

I dug into the internet and found some interesting and some disturbing information that you might find helpful.

Accessing WhatsApp Backup on Google Drive

The first thing that I discovered was that Android phones use Google Drive to backup WhatsApp data.

That immediately made me think, even if I stop using WhatsApp, all my data will be on Google Drive, and I personally don’t feel comfortable with my data being on the cloud, especially when I am not even using it.

To delete the data, it is necessary to know where it is stored. Here’s how you can find your WhatsApp data on your Google Drive.

    1. Go to www.drive.google.com and log in with your Google account credentials. Make sure you use the same account like that on the phone you created the backup from.
    2. Click the number (xGb of yGB Free) under the “Storage” on the left-hand side of the page.
    3. On the page that opens up, click on Backups just under your profile picture in the top right corner of the page.
    4. You can view the details of any of the backups by right-clicking on it and clicking “Preview.”
    5. If you want to delete a backup, that can also be done from the same menu.

That solved part of the problem for me. I could delete the backup (which I did not do because I am not planning to stop using WhatsApp anytime soon) backup but not see what actually was inside it.

Here are the three things you need to know about WhatsApp backups stored on Google Drive:

    • You can delete any or all WhatsApp backups from Google Drive when you want, but the messages and files in the backup are not in a readable format.
    • You can restore the backup to a new or the same Android phone, and it will bring back all the messages and files till the date the backup was created.
    • WhatsApp backups on Google Drive are linked to the phone number and Google account they are made from.

As I was doing this research, one of my friends asked me what I was doing. When I told her, she asked me to dig a bit about iCloud WhatsApp backup because, for some reason, she thinks that Android is a thing of past – and iPhone is the way forward.

    Here is what I found.

    Accessing WhatsApp Backups on iCloud

As we all know, Apple is super-sensitive when it comes to security and privacy.

To make sure that the backed-up WhatsApp data of iPhone users is secure and out of the reach of anyone with bad intentions, Apple does not let users access the backup files on iCloud.

However, there is one way that you can access your WhatsApp backup. For this, you need to do the following:

    1. Back up your phone to your computer using iTunes.
    2. Use a dedicated iTunes backup extractor and load the “ChatStorage.sqlite” file.
    3. You can access the WhatsApp chats backup in it.

All that brings us to one big question: how can we access the contents of WhatsApp backup for any device?

The answer to that lies in a smart little tool called Mobitrix WhatsApp Transfer.

How to Read WhatsApp Backup for Any Device? – Mobitrix WhatsApp Transfer

So far, we have established that neither Google nor Apple lets you access the specific files inside a WhatsApp better. However, that does not mean that you cannot access them at all.

The tool that can make it possible is Mobitrix WhatsApp Transfer . It is a 100% safe and secure tool that can be used for WhatsApp data backup, transfer, and restore across different operating systems.

What makes Mobitrix the best tool when it comes to WhatsApp backups? The following features:

    • You can use it to back up your WhatsApp data to a computer for free.
    • It stores the backups in neatly organized folders that you can view, organize, and edit.
    • All your data is saved on your computer, which makes it totally safe and secure, invulnerable to any attack.
    • It can be used to backup, restore, and transfer WhatsApp data across any device, no matter what their operating system is.

Now, the next logical question is, how do we use this tool?

    How to Use Mobitrix?

One of the other tricks up the sleeve of this tool is that it is incredibly simple and easy to use. You can backup your WhatsApp data using this tool in the following three simple steps:

    1. Download and install Mobitrix on your computer.
    2. Attach your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
    3. Run Mobitrix and click on the Backup button on the interface.

Your WhatsApp data will be instantly backed up to your computer. You can see it, explore what’s inside and manage it. The best part is, even if you make the backup from an iPhone and want to restore it to an Android device or make one on an Android device and want to transfer to an iPhone, that is also possible.

You can access your WhatsApp backup on Google Drive by going to the backups section, where you can delete or restore it. However, it is not able to access backup files on iCloud Drive. You can also not view the contents of a backup in either of the cases.

Mobitrix is a third-party tool that can be used to make and restore WhatsApp backups. The backups made by this tool are saved on your computer and are not vulnerable to any attack. You can also access them and view the files inside them whenever needed.
