Summing Up

Disney Plus makes it easy to manage your watchlist by adding or removing movies or shows with a couple of presses or clicks of a button. Having a watchlist allows you to keep track of what you want to watch as well as what you’ve already watched.

The service streams in resolutions up to 4K Ultra HD in Dolby Vision and HDR 10. Where available, it also supports Dolby Atmos sound. It is just $7.99/month or $79.99/year. Or, you can get the Disney Plus bundle that includes Hulu (With Ads) and ESPN+ for $13.99/month. Or, you can grab the new bundle that offers Disney Plus, Hulu (No Ads), and ESPN+ for $19.99/month.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Since its recent inauguration, Disney Plus’s subscription base has grown exponentially. The service is bringing together Disney’s massive back catalog as well as most of the Marvel and Star Wars titles under one “roof” – and people are loving it.

True to their nature, Disney seems to have sprung for the development of a very intuitive and streamlined interface. It has all the options that users might need including setting up a watchlist. Where some users get stuck, however, is in removing titles from said watchlist. That’s what you’ll learn to do in this article.

Get Started By Signing Up

Before you start streaming your favorite Disney movies on Disney Plus, you’ll need to get signed up for an account. Start by signing up here for a free week trial, or get your favorite movies, shows, and sports for one low price by bundling Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus right here!

Add or Remove Titles from the Watchlist

The interface for Disney Plus remains largely consistent across devices and platforms. In this article, you’ll see the steps outlined using a Chrome browser but they remain roughly the same no matter what you’re using to manage your watchlist.

First, you want to access your account. In case you’re using a browser, you can do that by visiting the Disney Plus website and logging in with your account information. If you’re using a smart TV or another device, you’ll likely do this via the Disney Plus app for your system.

Once you log in, you’ll see the home screen with a variety of featured titles. To add titles to your watchlist, navigate to the title that you want and select it. This will open the title’s splash page, where you can see information about it and a “Play” button. Next to that play button, you’ll see a plus sign that you can interact with. Click or otherwise select the plus sign to add the title to your watchlist.

How to manage your disney watchlist

You can view titles on your watchlist by navigating to it on the top menu from your home screen. The menu may be found on the left or right depending on the platform as well.

To remove titles, you’ll simply reverse this process. When you add a title to the watchlist, the plus sign will transform into a checkmark. Navigate to the title’s splash page and select the checkmark to remove it from the watchlist. You don’t have to find the title from the home page since it’s already on the watchlist, and it’s easiest to access the splash page from there.

Where Can I Access the Watchlist?

So now that you’ve populated your watchlist, it may be unclear where exactly that watchlist is in effect located. Obviously, the watchlist will be available on the device that you used to add the titles immediately. But, it will also be available anywhere else you log it. The watchlist is tied to your account, not the device used to add titles.

It should be worth noting that the titles added will only be added on the profile that is currently signed in. Other profiles won’t have those titles on the watchlist and each will need to be managed separately. At the time of writing, some users have experienced a bug that copies all titles from all watchlists over profiles. But that won’t be the case for long as the Disney dev team will no doubt work to fix it.

Is Disney Plus Worth It?

With Disney Plus, the entertainment giant is trying to break into the streaming market and they’re not pulling any punches along the way. Disney already owns a few other subscription streaming services – most notably Hulu – but Disney Plus seems to be gunning for pole position. That position, unequivocally held by Netflix, is shifting.

How to manage your disney watchlist

The initial price for the service is well below the most comparable options, and it’s even below some options that provide less content. While the amount of content is actually less than other services, it has some of the most popular titles of all time as well as timeless classics.

The interface is intuitive, the service works flawlessly (for the most part) and there’s every indication that, as their licensing ends with other streaming services, Disney content will become exclusive to Disney Plus. When all that stacks up, it’s hard to find a reason not to pick this service. If you’re in the market for a new streaming subscription, you can’t go wrong with Disney Plus.

Find, Add, Repeat, Binge

Adding titles to your Disney Plus watchlist is super simple thanks to their straightforward interface. Disney made a very smart move in not trying to reinvent the wheel and stuck to tried and tested design layouts and UX models.

To add a title, simply find it and select the big plus sign next to the play button. To remove that title, select the checkmark that replaces the plus sign once it’s added. It’s that easy.

Disney Plus is one of the most popular streaming services available. Its low cost and extraordinary collection of movies, shows, and documentaries offer something for everyone. Like most streaming services, you can see a record of shows and movies you’ve already watched.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Unfortunately, Disney Plus doesn’t make it easy to remove your recently watched titles. That’s why we’ve written this article to show you some workarounds and answer some of your questions.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Can You Clear the Recently Watched List on Disney Plus?

Unlike Hulu or Netflix, Disney+ has yet to add a viewing history section or even an option to delete your watch history. This is especially unfortunate because, like the other platforms, Disney+ makes recommendations based on your past selections.

So, without the option to remove a viewing history, what can you do to customize your Disney+ selections? In the sections below, we’ll list all of the options to delete the recently watched list.

Set Up a Secondary Profile

Perhaps you want to watch a show you don’t want anyone else to know about, or you don’t want Disney Plus to make recommendations based on your watch history. Since we can’t delete our recently watched titles, we’ll need to create and delete a profile.

However, you can’t delete the main profile on your Disney Plus account. So, you’ll need to create a temporary one that you can delete later. When you delete a profile on your account, all of the corresponding watch history goes with it.

The best option for removing recently watched titles is to follow these steps:

  1. Open Disney Plus and sign into your account. Then, tap the +Add Profile option.
How to manage your disney watchlist
  2. Choose a profile picture and add a name for your profile. Now, click Done in the upper right-hand corner.
How to manage your disney watchlist
  3. Now Watch the content you’d like. When you want to clear the profile’s history, click on the Edit Profiles option from the home page.

  4. Select the pen icon on the profile you used to watch titles.
How to manage your disney watchlist
  5. Scroll down and click on Delete Profile.

Now, you won’t have to worry about irrelevant suggested titles or the inability to delete your recently watched history.

Remove Watchlist Content

Even though the “Recently Watched” list was added, the company has yet to add an option to delete the content. But, you can delete items from your Watchlist. To make the distinction, you have to add items to your Watchlist that you may want to watch later. It just makes it easier to search the content you want to watch (especially if you have kids who watch the same movie over and over again).

To remove content from your Watchlist, do this:

  1. Launch Disney Plus on your device and go to the Watchlist at the top of the interface.
How to manage your disney watchlist
  2. Find the item you want to remove and press the “Checkmark” button in the corner of its thumbnail. This will remove it from your list.
How to manage your disney watchlist

This will work most of the time, but it might sometimes glitch, preventing you from removing a certain item. You may have to try a couple of times, but it will work eventually.

Frequently Asked Questions

Disney Plus is a fantastic contender with other streaming services. If you didn’t learn everything you wanted to know above, keep reading.

How do I find my watch history on Disney Plus?

Unfortunately, you can’t view your watch history on Disney Plus. While you may find most of the titles you’ve played in the Continue Watching section, your recently watched content only serves to make recommendations. This means you can’t view every item you’ve watched in the past.

Will Disney Plus ever give us the option to delete our watch history?

Unfortunately, the company hasn’t released any indication that the feature is in the works. But, you can fill out the Give Feedback Form to request a Recently Watched category.

Our theory for filling out this form stems from hopes that if enough users request the function, Disney Plus developers will eventually incorporate it on the platform.

A Relatively Smooth Start for Disney Plus

Even though there have been some interface issues, Disney Plus had a pretty great start. With so much classic Disney content already available and new movies and TV shows on the horizon, it may become one of the biggest streaming services out there.

Have you had any issues since the launch? Were you able to edit your Recently Watched list? What are your favorite Disney movies and TV shows? Tell us in the comments section below.

Comparatively speaking, Disney Plus is a popular streaming service with a wide variety of movies and shows for the entire family. Over time, Disney has worked out many kinks and added new functionality. Regardless, Disney+ does not offer the ability to control your “Continue Watching” list. While the list appears, users have yet to control what appears in the list.

Unlike Netflix and other services, there is no option to remove content from the Continue Watching carousel. However, there are some workarounds we’ve uncovered. Keep reading to learn more about managing your Continue Watching content.

Having the ability to go directly to your favorite shows or movies after you’ve taken a break from them is nice, but there are times when you want to de-clutter your “Continue Watching” list. Perhaps you’ve seen a movie but didn’t watch the credits at the end completely. This title remains on the list until you finish watching it. Here are some solutions.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Use the Fast Forward Feature to Remove Titles from ‘Continue Watching’

It might seem like an incredibly impractical solution, but options are scarce. Therefore fast-forwarding is one trick to use. Perhaps you were watching a TV show, and you got bored after the first two episodes, or you don’t like to wait through movie credits, and Disney doesn’t get that. The show or movie lingers in the “Continue Watching” section until you complete it.

Fast Fowarding Movies to Remove them from Disney+ Continue Watching

The only way to get rid of the movie is to finish viewing it entirely. That isn’t practical because not everyone has time to watch the ending credits, or they want to jump to a new movie right away. Here’s what to do.

  1. Load the movie you want to remove from the list. It doens’t matter what the current position is.
  2. Fast forward to the very end of the movie, and it will disappear from the “Continue Watching” section.

Fast Forwarding TV Shows to Remove them from Disney+ Continue Watching

When it comes to shows, removing them from the “Continue Watching” list is a little trickier than movies, although it is still simple to do.

  1. Load the last episode of the previous season. If you were watching Season 2 episode 5, load Season 1’s last episode.
  2. Fast-forward until you get close to the end of the episode. Do not go all the way.
How to manage your disney watchlist
  3. Let it play the rest of the way, then the TV show disappears from the “Continue Watching” list.
  4. Refresh your Disney+ Home Screen, and it should be gone.

The show is removed from the “Continue Watching” section when you finish it. Unlike Netflix, Disney Plus doesn’t show you that little badge notifying you that a new episode is available. So, it will not reappear in the “Continue Watching” section unless you load it again.

Finish Your Shows in the Background to Remove from ‘Continue Watching’

Another trick to delete movies and shows from your “Continue Watching” list in Disney Plus is to finish them in the background on a PC. If you’re using a computer to stream Disney Plus, you can use a picture-in-picture extension to play through all your Disney Plus content. This method is a little easier because you can multitask; Disney Plus can play on your computer while taking care of more important business. You can even mute Disney Plus, so you won’t hear the content playing.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Use a Second Profile to Reduce Your “Continue Watching” List

Here is another approach to consider. Disney Plus allows seven profiles per account. If there is at least one profile to spare in your account, you can use it as a test profile. That’s a preemptive measure, but it could work.

When you want to try a new show, start watching it on one profile, and if you love it, continue watching it from the one you usually use. If you don’t like it, it remains in the “Continue Watching” section of the other profile.

This method does mean a little bit of juggling, but it also means a better organized primary profile. And fewer recommendations for TV shows and movies you don’t want to see.

How to manage your disney watchlist

In closing, it can be exciting when you’re first exploring a streaming service like Disney Plus. You’re going through all the great content and clicking all kinds of stuff. But after a while, you settle on a few things. Until Disney Plus finds a simple solution for controlling the “Continue Watching” feature, people can use one of the methods above to accomplish the goal.

Disney+ Continue Watching FAQs

Will Disney+ ever add a built-in option to control the Continue Watching list?

Disney+ has not mentioned anything regarding adding an easier way to remove content on your ‘Continue Watching’ list. But, you can support feedback. As mentioned previously, the ‘Continue Watching’ list wasn’t even a part of the original Disney+ interface.

The more users who request the feature may prompt Disney to include the option. All you need to do is go to the Disney+ Feedback page and click on the ‘I have a product or content suggestion,’ then click the ‘Give Feedback’ hyperlink and fill out the form.

Will Disney+ ever add a built-in PIP option to allow background playing?

Disney+ is available in numerous countries, yet it acquired Hotstar (a streaming service) in India and changed the name to Disney+ Hotstar. The service is owned by Novi Digital Entertainment of Star India while operated by Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution (one company, not two). The Walt Disney Company owns both (Novi and Disney Media).

Disney+ Hotstar received great reviews and took off well in India. The Disney+ Hotstar app gave users PIP functionality that Disney+ does not provide. The streaming service got released in other countries, including the US, to allow overseas Indians to enjoy their favorite programs alongside select Disney+ content. However, Disney discontinued the service in the US in November of 2021. It is still possible that the company may add the feature sometime in the future, but there are no guarantees.

Disney+’s awesome “GroupWatch” functionality is a co-viewing feature that lets you connect with friends and families to watch movies and shows from the entire Disney+ library, even when apart. GroupWatch lets up to seven people watch together in synced playback that you can access via web, on Disney+’s mobile platforms, on connected TV devices, and through smart TVs.

Who can access Disney+ GroupWatch parties?

How to manage your disney watchlist

In order to access the Disney+ GroupWatch functionality, you need to be a subscriber, both to start a GroupWatch party and to join one via an invite. Disney+ currently costs $7.99 a month or $79.99 per year in the U.S. A subscription gives you ad-free access to all of the service’s streaming titles as well as the GroupWatch functionality.

Disney+ GroupWatch participants must all be in the same country. Kid’s profiles cannot participate in a GroupWatch.

What devices support Disney+ GroupWatch parties?

How to manage your disney watchlist

With the exception of PS4 and selected Roku models, Disney+ GroupWatch is available across a wide range of devices and platforms, including mobile devices, web browsers, game consoles, set-top boxes, and smart TVs (click here for a full list of Disney+ supported devices).

How to begin a Disney+ GroupWatch viewing party

As above, as long as you are a Disney+ subscriber you can get your viewing party started by selecting a title, then tapping or clicking on the GroupWatch icon found on the “Details” page of series and movies. This GroupWatch icon is represented by three figures in a circle.

How to manage your disney watchlist

This will generate a URL link to invite up to six other people (who, again, also have to be Disney+ subscribers) to watch along. You can send people the link via text or email, or, if you’re on a mobile platform, you can share via social media. The original invitations must be generated from a mobile device, such as a phone or a tablet, or from the web.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Once generated, hit “Start Stream,” and you and the invitees can then watch from mobile devices, connected TV devices, or a smart TV. Don’t forget the popcorn!

During the GroupWatch, anyone can pause, fast forward, or rewind. If you haven’t hit your invite limit, the person who initiated the GroupWatch session can invite more people at any point by coming out of the player and tapping the plus-sign invite icon.

How to activate an invite to a Disney+ GroupWatch viewing party

You can accept a Disney+ GoupWatch invite through the Disney+ app or on DisneyPlus.com by searching for the title of the content. On the title page, select the GroupWatch icon. Select “Join Stream” and follow the prompts.

Once you’ve accepted the invite, you can switch to a connected TV to watch on a larger screen by opening Disney+ using the profile that accepted the link and selecting “Join Stream.”

How to react with emoticons during a Disney+ GroupWatch session

While watching, you and the other viewers can communicate in real time with six different emoji — “like,” “funny,” “sad,” “angry,” “scared,” and “surprised” — by selecting them in the Disney+ app or on the website.

How to manage your disney watchlist

To send an emoticon for your fellow viewers to see from a mobile device, tap the screen, then tap the smiley face icon to see your six options. On desktop, put your cursor over the smiley face icon and then click on the emoticon you want to send.

Using either method, your chosen emoticon will appear at the bottom of everyone’s screen with your Disney+ profile name next to it.

How to end your participation in a Disney+ GroupWatch viewing party

If you need to stop watching before the title has ended, simply select “Leave GroupWatch.” Everyone else’s stream will continue without you until the title ends or everyone clicks that button.

Disney Plus subscribers can get discounts, request shows, make a watchlist and more.

Disney Plus offers an ever-growing library of classic Disney movies, Pixar shorts, documentaries and the Star Wars and Marvel franchises, as well as introducing us to Baby Yoda and other cultural icons through its marquee original series, The Mandalorian . The streaming service also offers Marvel shows like Loki , WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier .

The service’s popularity has continued to grow since launch, with the Walt Disney Company reporting 129.8 million subscribers worldwide in the first quarter of 2022.

Here are a few tips you may not know to help you get the most out of your Disney Plus subscription.

Get Disney Plus for free (or at least for less money)

Compared to its streaming peers, Disney Plus is priced pretty competitively at $8 a month, or $80 a year. But free is even better. Verizon Unlimited customers can each get six months of Disney Plus free.

Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian might just be the cutest Star Wars character ever.

Disney also offers a bundle option where you can get Disney Plus, Hulu and ESPN Plus for $14 a month. To swap to the bundle deal or change your payments from monthly to annual in the Disney Plus app, just click your profile character icon and click Account.

A cheaper, ad-supported subscription plan will also be available in the US in late 2022 and worldwide in 2023. Disney hasn’t specified the new plan’s price or launch date, or whether the price of its current, ad-free membership would be affected by the new option.

Download content

If you’re going somewhere without Wi-Fi, you can download movies and episodes of shows from Disney Plus to watch on the go. To download a title, just select the downward arrow icon to start the process. You’ll find anything you downloaded by tapping the same downward arrow icon in the toolbar at the bottom of the menu of the app.

There are no restrictions on how many times you can download a title or watch a title you’ve downloaded. You just need to access Disney Plus at least once a month. Essentially, you don’t get to keep the movies you download if you get rid of Disney Plus. Deleting downloads is easy, too.

Make a watchlist

Disney Plus’s watchlist option is a major benefit to those of us who found dozens of throwback movies and shows on the platform that we want to rewatch when we have the time. The watchlist works just like your Netflix queue. To add a title, just tap the + icon found next to the play button. You can find your list in the Disney Plus toolbar at the top of the screen, under Watchlist.

Search more effectively

Disney continues to add new content to Disney Plus, and if you’re not looking for a specific movie or show, the huge catalog available can be overwhelming. But the platform splits every film into categories, and everything is pretty easy to navigate.

If you click the magnifying glass icon, it opens Disney Plus’ Explore feature. Instead of scrolling, you can choose from a number of different collections to narrow down your search, like the Spider-Man collection or The Muppets collection. The Disney Through the Decades collection starts with Steamboat Willie, the Mickey Mouse cartoon from the 1920s, and goes all the way up to the Avengers series.

Movies Coming in 2022 From Marvel, Netflix, DC and More

Share links

While there isn’t a way to share Disney Plus content URLs within the app, you can do so if you’re watching on the service’s website. To share a specific episode of a show, start playing the video and copy the URL. Send it to your friend and save them some time searching for the monorail episode of The Simpsons .

Request shows

While there’s plenty to watch on Disney Plus, there are still many shows and movies that could be added. If you don’t see the show you’re looking for on the service, and you haven’t seen any news that it’s coming later, you can request that it be brought to the service.

Here’s how to pitch your favorite Disney flick:

1. Open Disney Plus’ Help Center in the app or on your computer browser.

2. Click Give Feedback under the search bar and select Request a Film or Show. You can suggest up to three titles at a time.

If your OCD demands that your Keep Watching list on Discovery Plus only features those titles that you still want to watch, then you’re going to have a tough time on Discovery Plus. Let’s see if there’s any way to remove titles from Continue Watching.

Many times over the years, through numerous streaming services, we’ve all had this issue – we mistakenly click on a show or start watching one and then lose interest. And then, because of this, it just stays in your Continue Watching list forever and ever.

On Netflix, for instance, you can remove them via a specially made menu option. On Disney+, you can just go to the end of the movie or the last episode in the show, and once it’s done, it gets removed.

Sadly, on Discovery Plus, none of these options work for shows. We’ve tried moving the video controller to the end of the last episode of the series and then just found we still had to pick up from episode 2.

We did try this out with a documentary – a single episode – and that worked just fine. But, as we all know, we more often than not lose interest in shows rather than movies or documentaries. So, being unable to remove them at all is rather annoying.

Hopefully, they either add this feature sometime soon, or you just get used to a full list of stuff you won’t want to ever watch on Continue Watching. We do advise you to simply ‘drown out’ the titles you no longer want to watch with cool shows you do want to follow.

How to manage your disney watchlist

If you’re not familiar with autoplay, it’s the feature that causes the next episode in a series you’re streaming to play immediately after the episode you’ve just been watching finishes. As such, it’s one of those features that you might love at one moment − while nursing a sore head full of regret, perhaps − and get deeply, irrationally irritated by at another.

Disney Plus has autoplay switched on by default, but you can easily turn it off (and turn it back on when you next fancy settling in for a big binge). Here’s how.

Depending on what type of device you’re using, tap or click your Disney Plus profile icon. If you’re struggling to find it, it’ll likely be nestled in one of the corners.

From the dropdown menu that appears, hit ‘Edit Profiles’ and select the profile you want to change the autoplay settings for.

After that, it’s a simple case of turning a toggle on or off, and hitting ‘Save’.

Incidentally, from this page you can also change the name and icon associated with your Disney Plus’ profile, change your language settings, and switch background video on or off.

Disney Plus launched in a handful of countries in November of last year, and at long last it has now also gone live in the UK, where a subscription costs either £5.99 per month (which works out at £71.88 over the course of a year), or £59.99 per year (the equivalent of £4.99 each month).

The streaming service includes more than 100 4K titles, but due to the ongoing spread of coronavirus and the fact that everyone has been to to work from home if they can for the foreseeable future, Disney has opted to launch Disney Plus UK without the ability to stream in 4K picture quality.

“In light of the concerns expressed by government officials regarding the use of broadband services in this challenging time, we have instituted measures to lower bandwidth utilization, and in some circumstances streaming content in HD and UHD formats will be limited or unavailable. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” the company has said.

Disney Plus has so many cool titles that you’ll want to watch them all. In the meantime, you may be stuck with a full list of Continue Watching of movies you may not want to watch right now or which you started playing just to see what they were about. Let’s see what we can do about removing these titles from your Continue Watching list.

With a growing list of titles that you have to go back to, you may want to prune that list a bit.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to remove titles from “Continue Watching” just by pressing an “x” somewhere. That would have been entirely too easy, but it’s a feature that you can’t really find on any streaming services.

However, you can still get rid of the items on your list that you do not want.

Here’s How You Can Remove Movies From Continue Watching on Disney Plus

  • Scroll down to the “Continue Watching” movie carrousel.
  • Tap on the movie you want to take off your Continue list. Once it’s playing, forward to the end of the movie by moving the playback line.
  • You need to make sure the playback line goes down to zero. This will not happen when the video minimizes – it’s still playing in the small window, so tap on it to bring it back to full screen. Wait for it to finish completely.
  • In this way, Disney Plus will recognize that you’ve finished watching the series or movie, and you’re good to go.
  • When you’re back to the main screen, make sure you refresh the page. You’ll notice the movie or series has disappeared.

We know that many people have issues with this, but the method absolutely works. When you want to remove a movie, move the playback line as close to the end of the video as possible. If the video goes small, click on it and follow the progression – allow it to go to the very end of the line before exiting. Once you find your way back to the main page, hit refresh as it will otherwise keep showing you the movie.

Here’s How You Can Remove Series from Continue Watching on Disney Plus

  • Go down to the “Continue Watching” carrousel.
  • Choose the series you want to remove from your list.
  • Open the series and go to the last possible season and most recent episode. Forward to the end of the episode.
  • Make sure the playback line goes down to zero. Even if the video minimizes, it’s not done yet, so click on it to bring it up again. Watch as the seconds go down and even help it out by skipping 10 seconds ahead. For the last stretch, just wait.
  • Once you’re back on the main Disney Plus page, hit refresh.

When it comes to removing a series, you have to go to the very last season and episode there’s available. If you mistakenly started streaming The Simpsons for instance, you’ll need to go to Season 31, episode 22 (the latest one available in January 2021). Play the video, move the playback line to the very end and wait for it to end. Do not hurry through this.

It’s not the most elegant trick in the book, but it’s something that will help you out until there’s a better way to do this. Netflix recently introduced a way to eliminate titles from their Continue Watching list from the mobile app, so maybe Disney will follow next.

HBO Max’s watchlist, dubbed “My List,” is a great tool that lets you collect and sort the video content you’re interested in. That way, you don’t need to sift through HBO Max’s enormous catalog every time you open the app — just open your personal list of saved titles and start binging.

If you’re a veteran HBO user, you may be confused when opening HBO Max for the first time after upgrading from HBO Now or HBO Go. Why? Because your watchlist is empty. Titles in your Now or Go watchlist do not transfer over, unfortunately, but there are ways to get them back. You can’t transfer your list over automatically, so you’ll have to do the leg work manually, which involves finding your old list and adding and viewing items as outlined below.

Adding Shows & Movies to Your ‘My List’

Adding content to your watchlist is actually pretty straightforward. First, find a TV series or movie you’d like to add, either by browsing one of HBO Max’s content sections or by searching. Open up the title’s information page.

To add a film to your watchlist, just tap “Add to My List.” For a full TV series, tap “Add Series to My List.” And if you want to undo your decision right away, tap “Remove from My List” or “Remove Series from My List.”

How to manage your disney watchlist How to manage your disney watchlist

Adding a specific episode of a TV series is a tiny bit different. Once you’ve located the episode in question, tap on its title or thumbnail, making sure to avoid the play button (since that begins playback). On the episode’s info page, tap “Add to My List.” If needed, tap “Remove from My List” to change your mind right away.

Viewing Items ‘My List’

If you want to watch a show that you’ve added to My List, it’s just as easy. From HBO Max’s main screen, tap the profile icon in the bottom right. “My List” should be the first option highlighted. From there, all your saved shows and movies are just a tap away.

By default, your shows are sorted by “Recently Added.” You can change that by tapping “Sort: Recently Added,” then choosing from either “A–Z,” which sorts your content alphabetically, or “Z–A,” which sorts your content in reverse alphabetical order.

How to manage your disney watchlist How to manage your disney watchlist

Removing Items from ‘My List’

If you’d like to edit your My List, there’s one thing you should know upfront: Once you’ve watched all shows from one of the series on the list, the series will disappear, so you don’t have to worry about deleting it.

Aside from that, it’s simple to remove items, though, there are no swipe or long-press gestures to do so. Tap the “Edit” button in the top right. From there, you can delete titles one by one by tapping the (x) next to each item. HBO Max will instantly remove the title from your My List when you do so, without any confirmation prompt. Tap “Done” to finish.

If you want to remove all titles at once, tap “Clear All,” then tap “Clear All” on the pop-up confirmation. Tap “Done” to finish.

How to manage your disney watchlist How to manage your disney watchlist

Unfortunately, you’re stuck sorting by Recently Added, A–Z, and Z–A, so there is no way to create a custom order for your watchlist. There is also no way to group titles by category or genre. Hopefully, these are things that HBO thinks of in the future, which will give it a leg up on services like Netflix.

How to manage your disney watchlist

I love big movie explosions as much as anyone, but I have a bone to pick with movie studios: It feels like every time I watch an action movie, I have to turn the volume way up just to hear the characters speak, then quickly turn it down every time something explodes. And when I’m not quick enough on the draw, my sleeping wife gets very angry.

Why do movies do this?

It all has to do with dynamic range—the difference between the loudest and softest parts of a soundtrack. The wider the range, the larger the dramatic impact, explains Scott Wilkinson, audiovisual technology journalist and consultant (and the “Home Theater Geek” on TWiT.tv). In other words, they mix it that way so when that explosion finally happens, it kicks you in the gut and rocks your world.

The problem is, sometimes you don’t want your world rocked. Sometimes you just want to relax while watching superheroes punch each other in the face, without waking the neighbors through your paper-thin walls—and that dynamic range becomes a lot less desirable.

“This is generally not a problem in commercial cinemas, which have high-quality sound systems and good acoustics,” Wilkinson says. “So you can hear and understand quiet dialogue in one scene without lessening the impact of loud explosions in another scene.” Even if these movies get remastered for home viewing, most people are using weak TV speakers in a less-than-ideal room with the air conditioner running in the background. It’s a recipe for unintelligible dialogue and constant volume tweaking.

If you don’t have the cash to improve the acoustics of your room and create your own soundproof home theater (what am I, made of money?), you have other options.

Turn on “night mode”

You might not realize it, but there may already be a setting built into your TV, sound system, or streaming box designed to deal with this: it’s called “night mode,” and it does exactly what it sounds like.

“This compresses the dynamic range, reducing the difference between the loudest and softest parts of the soundtrack,” says Wilkinson. “Unfortunately, it’s not always easy to find this setting in the device’s menu system, though some devices have a dedicated ‘night mode’ button on their remote.” Dig through the settings of your TV, speaker system (if you have one), and streaming box—this useful mode may also be called “dynamic compression” or something similar.

Use a good sound bar or set of speakers

Even with night mode on, you may find that your TV speakers are not up to the task of making dialogue intelligible at low volumes. You may not have the room to build a huge, powerful surround sound system, but even small upgrades can go a long way.

Wilkinson recommends an outboard sound system, such as a sound bar or AV receiver with multiple speakers. Ideally, you’d have a sound bar or set of speakers with at least 3.1 channels—one left, one right, and one center (with a subwoofer for good bass). Most of the dialogue will come out of the center channel, and having a separate speaker dedicated to the task can make it easier to understand. So when you shop, keep an eye out for that “3.1” label—5.1 if you’re going for surround sound. I think LG’s 3.1 sound bar is a great place to start, if you’re low on space.

Turn up your center channel

A speaker system with a center channel will be a big step up from your TV speakers, but you can further decrease the dynamic range with in-menu volume adjustments. On many sound bars and receivers, you can increase the volume of the dialogue-focused center channel alone, without increasing the level of the other channels, Wilkinson says. This isn’t usually an option for two-channel systems, but it never hurts to look in your sound bar or receiver’s settings. Once you find the center channel volume level, crank it up a few notches and see where that gets you. (You may have to do a little experimentation to find the right balance—I always use The Matrix as a test case, as it’s a great example of a movie with high dynamic range.

When all else fails, use headphones

But if you just can’t avoid waking your sleeping kids downstairs—and I know this isn’t the solution you want to hear—you may have to resort to using headphones. “By isolating yourself from any ambient noise and acoustic defects in the room, you can listen at lower volume and still understand the dialogue without being blown out by loud sounds,” says Wilkinson.

You probably already have headphones that’ll do the trick, but I’d recommend against using Bluetooth, since there’s an inherent delay that’ll cause sound to be out of sync with the screen. Instead, connect your headphones to the TV or sound bar with a long 3.5-millimeter extension cable, or use a pair of radio frequency (RF)-based wireless home theater headphones like the Sennheiser RS 175. Some streaming boxes, like the Roku, may even allow you to plug your headphones into the remote—or your phone, using the remote app—to listen to music “wirelessly.” It may not be ideal, but at least you’ll get your superhero-punching fix without disturbing the neighborhood.

How much Does Disney Plus cost in the United States? Will there be a price increase in 2022?

Disney+ currently costs $7.99 per month or $79.99 per year. The price increase was announced in December 2020, but it did not increase until March 26, 2021.

It’s likely that Disney+ will see another increase in 2022 given how many rate increases Hulu has had, but no increase has been announced as of the writing of this article.

The current pricing for The Disney Bundle, including Disney+, Hulu with Ads, and ESPN+ will be $13.99/month or $19.99/month for Hulu without Ads.

As content becomes more and more expensive to produce, it’s likely that Disney will continue to raise prices on its streaming service and perhaps limit the number of devices available at the base price. So all of the information is subject to change.

With over 100 million subscribers signed up since it launched in November 2019, the Disney Plus streaming service has exploded. That’s in large part due to its content, which includes the majority of films from not just the main Disney library, but also from its Pixar, Star Wars, and Marvel divisions. However, even with its huge growth in users, it’s likely that Disney Plus account sharing is happening.

In this article, we will take a look at Disney Plus account sharing, along with info on how many devices on one account can stream at once and more. If you want to sign up for the service, you can do so at the link below. Also, be sure to check out our hub page for everything you’d ever want to know about Disney Plus.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Is Disney Plus account sharing even allowed?

First, let’s address the big question: Is Disney Plus account sharing legal? Technically, no, but Disney knows it will happen anyway. In an interview for The Verge conducted around the time the service launched in November 2019, Michael Paull, the president of Disney Streaming Services, stated, “…we do recognize password sharing exists and will continue to exist.” Paull strongly hints that the company is willing to tolerate a certain amount of Disney Plus account sharing.

However, that doesn’t mean you should just go out and share your Disney Plus subscription with everyone you encounter on the street. Paull stated in that same interview, “We have created some technology that’s in the backend that we will use to understand behavior. And when we see behavior that doesn’t make sense, we have mechanisms that we’ve put in place that will deal with it.”

One thing to keep in mind is every Disney Plus account can support up to seven individual profiles. In other words, the service is very generous when it comes to allowing its subscribers to share with close friends and family members. However, if you start to share Disney Plus subscription with a lot more than six other users, don’t be surprised if your account gets suspended. In short, just use common sense with it comes to sharing your account with others and you should be fine.

How to manage your disney watchlist

How many devices can stream Disney Plus simultaneously?

Each Disney Plus account supports up to four simultaneous streams at one time. Once again that’s highly generous for a streaming service that currently costs $7.99 a month. By comparison, Netflix only allows up to four streams at once on its most expensive plan, which costs $19.99 per month.

How many devices can download content at once?

One of the best features Disney Plus offers is the ability to download content for offline viewing. This feature is made even better by the fact that each Disney Plus account can support up to 10 devices at once for downloadable content. That content can also remain on your phone indefinitely, as long as you log into your Disney Plus account once every 30 days.

How many profiles can you have on Disney Plus?

To make sharing easier, you’re likely going to need to make more profiles, but how many profiles can you have on Disney Plus? The answer is seven. Of course you can always delete profiles from people who you know longer share with, or even designate one profile as “guest” and share with several people.

Can I kick out any freeloaders off my Disney Plus account?

If you suspect someone is accessing your Disney Plus subscription without your permission, there are only a few pretty basic things you can do. One of them is to change your account password and then tell the folks that you allow to use your account about that new password.

You can also choose to cancel your Disney Plus subscription and set up a new one on your account.

How to delete your Disney account completely

The last, and most extreme, option, is to delete your Disney online account completely and set up a new one. Keep in mind that if you make this decision, deleting the account will also affect other services that you might use, including signing into ESPN Plus, the ShopDisney.com site, and more. Once you either change your password or delete and set up a new account, make sure to warn anyone else you might give your account information to not share it with anyone else.

If you feel you need to take this ultimate move, here’s how to delete your Disney account:

How you cancel your Disney streaming service subscription will depend on how you signed up.

Katie is a Writer at CNET, covering all things how-to. When she’s not writing, she enjoys playing in golf scrambles, practicing yoga and spending time on the lake.

If you want to cancel your Disney Plus subscription — maybe you’ve binge-watched all your favorite TV shows and movies , and can’t find anything else to watch — it won’t be as easy as you think. The steps you’ll have to take to end your subscription comes down to how you signed up.

For most, they’ll need to sign in to their Disney Plus account in a web browser to manage and cancel their subscription, but things do get tricky if you signed up using the phone app.

When you cancel your subscription, you’ll still be able to watch Disney Plus movies and shows until the end of the billing cycle. Here’s what you need to do.

Cancel your subscription in a browser

1. Open www.disneyplus.com in a browser on your laptop or phone.

2. Log in with your username and password.

3. Select your profile icon.

4. Tap Account.

5. Select your subscription. It will say something like Disney Plus (monthly).

6. Click Cancel Subscription.

7. Select your reason for canceling. For example, too expensive or watched everything you wanted to.

8. Confirm you want to cancel by selecting Continue to Cancel.

Cancel through your phone’s settings or a web browser.

Cancel Disney Plus in your iPhone settings

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

2. Tap your name at the top.

3. Select Subscriptions.

4. Tap Disney Plus.

5. Select Cancel Subscription.

Cancel Disney Plus in the Google Play Store on your Android phone

1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android.

2. Tap your profile picture.

3. Select Payments and Subscriptions.

4. Tap Subscriptions.

5. Select Disney Plus.

6. Tap Cancel subscription and follow the on-screen instructions.

Don’t worry, if you change your mind, you can always sign up again (and possibly get the bundle deal with Hulu and ESPN Plus).

Everyone knows Disney is better with friends and family – here’s how you can watch its streaming service with your pals.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Disney+ has rolled out a co-watching feature letting you watch movies and shows with up to six other friends that started out in the US but has now expanded to more countries – including here in the UK!

Titled “GroupWatch”, the feature syncs Disney Plus playback with other subscribers no matter where they are, with each user having the ability to pause, rewind or fast forward.

GroupWatch is currently compatible with the Disney+ website and the app for iPhone, Android, smart TVs, and connected TV devices.

Disney+ is the latest streaming service offering a co-watching feature, following the launch of Netflix Party Chrome Extension in March Prime Video Watch Party in June las year.

The “watch party” trend has become popular during the coronavirus pandemic, allowing friends and family to enjoy streaming services together during lockdown and self-isolation.

GroupWatch the latest experimental feature from Disney Plus, which offered the 2020 remake of Mulan as a £19.99 rental through the streaming service’s Disney Plus Premier Access and did the same with the newly-released Raya and the Last Dragon in March 2021.

Not got Disney Plus UK yet? You’ve got more reason to than ever before. That’s because of the arrival of Star on Disney Plus, an add-on service that doubles the amount of content available on the platform, largely with a much more mature slate of TV shows and films, from The X-Files to Die Hard. For a full list of what to expect, look at our round-up of Disney+ Star content.

How to watch Disney Plus with friends

Using Disney+ GroupWatch is surprisingly easy. Here’s your quick how to:

  1. Open Disney+ on your iPhone, Android, or on Disney’s website.
  2. Select a movie or TV show.
  3. On the Details page, click the GroupWatch icon (an outline of three people).
  4. Invite up to six other Disney+ subscribers.
  5. Once everyone has accepted the invite, press play on your chosen movie or TV show.

Just bear in mind you’ll have to start the group on the mobile app or through the website – you can then move to a different device once everything is set up if you’d like. To change devices, simply boot up Disney+ on your chosen gadget and click the GroupWatch icon again.

  • For the latest news and expert tips on getting the best deals this year, take a look at our Black Friday 2021 and Cyber Monday 2021 guides.

Once playback has started, any invited member can pause, rewind or fast forward should they wish to take a break or rewatch a scene. Unlike Netflix Party there is no chat feature, but users can instead react through six available emojis: “like,” “funny,” “sad,” “angry,” “scared” and “surprised”.

You can sign up to Disney+ now for £79.90 for a year or £7.99 a month. Check out the best movies on Disney+ – or see what else is on with our TV Guide.

Interesting Facts About Adidas

The Walt Disney Company claims to do intensive research to learn about its target market, enabling it to seize growth opportunities on a global level. Disney’s corporate officials say they are committed to staying current with technologies children use, with shows they are watching, and how they incorporate technology in their lives. For example, Disney offers advertising discounts on Twitter and games on Facebook. It makes sure that its licensed characters like Mickey Mouse and Spider-Man are advancing to new platforms.

Target Marketing

Demonstrating its leadership in marketing to reach kids and families, Disney unveiled the first national wireless phone service in 2006, known as Disney MobileSM. The phone used GPS capabilities to allow parents to control who their children communicate with and to monitor where they are. This is part of Disney’s strategy to be relevant to contemporary family lifestyles. Disney also continues to appeal to teens and their parents by staying current with digital gaming and social media opportunities, as by its acquisition of online social gaming leader Playdom Inc.

According to small-business strategist DEMC, Disney recognizes that many people do not have the opportunity to travel to the United States to visit Walt Disney World or Disneyland. As a result, Disney developed theme parks around the globe to capture the market, adapting them to local cultures. They include Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney, and Hong Kong Disneyland. With worldwide expansion, Disney aims to increase its marketplace and expand its brand.

Advertising and Promotions

Disney’s ownership of media networks such as ABC, Disney Channel and ESPN is a strategy the company is using to market its brand to Americans. This includes a systematic approach to television advertising, as well as radio commercials, print, outdoor advertising and mobile initiatives, promoting discounts on resorts, and family packages. To reach teenagers, Disney launched advergaming, which puts ad messages in online and video games. The goal is to reach kids directly and encourage them to urge their parents to visit a Disney park for a family experience.

Innovation

As part of its marketing strategy, Disney believes in innovation to stay ahead of the competition and build business. With rapid advances in technology, the traditional passive television audience is in transition, no longer captive to prime-time scheduling on major networks. Disney’s strategy is to connect with kids directly via storytelling utilizing multiple technologies.

Disney has made major changes to the Dumbo ride at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Here, guests are seen snaking through the line in this May 2007 file photo. (AP)

In recent weeks, two politicians invoked the Disney name when discussing the drudgery of waiting in long lines.

First in the queue was former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey, who suggested two weeks ago that Disney, not the Transportation Security Administration, should manage airport security lines, because “nobody runs lines better than Disney.”

Next came Veterans Affairs Secretary Bob McDonald, who last week compared long waits at VA hospitals to the lines at Disney amusement parks. “When you go to Disney, do they measure the number of hours you wait in line?” McDonald asked reporters. (He apologized the next day.)

There’s no question that Disney has extensive experience in managing crowds.

As much as I want to see Anna & Elsa when I go to Disney I will not wait 5 hours & 20 mins 🙅 pic.twitter.com/NpEsO6cR3H

The company operates eight of the 10 most-visited theme parks in the world, including the world’s most popular: the Magic Kingdom at Disney World in Florida, which had more than 20 million visitors last year.

But has Disney’s experience with its legendary lines made them any shorter? In some ways yes, but in others no, the experts say.

“Lines are a function of three things: the number of guests in a park, the interest in a particular attraction and the ability of the park to move people through the line,” said Arthur Levine, theme parks expert at About.com.

Some rides have long lines simply because there is a limit to how many people can ride at once, Levine said, and Disney has come up with creative solutions to move some of those lines faster.

The most dramatic example may be the iconic Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction in the Magic Kingdom. “It’s always been a high-demand ride,” Levine said, “but it had very low capacity because there was a single boarding platform, and they could only put a certain number of people on the ride in an hour, so the lines used to get crazy long.”

The fix? In 2012, Disney built a second carousel, which doubled the ride’s capacity. Now there are side-by-side Dumbos, along with another huge perk: “They also built an air-conditioned circus tent where guests can wait,” Levine said. “Inside there is playground equipment and interactive games for kids. Guests get restaurant-style pagers that alert them when it’s time to board the ride.

“It’s definitely a good way to keep young kids from melting down in the hot sun while waiting.”

But contrary to Secretary McDonald’s assumption, Disney does measure wait times.

“Yesterday, when I was at Hollywood Studios, lanyards were being given to guests when they entered a line and taken away when they got to the load zone. It’s how Disney records how long people are spending in line,” said Deb Wills, founder of the Disney planning site AllEars.net.

“Disney is always looking for ways to make lines shorter, because, quite honestly, they want you to be buying food and drinks and souvenirs, not standing in a long line.”

The length of your line also depends on when you start planning your visit and when you are actually there.

Last year, in an attempt to shift demand, Disney changed its annual-pass system, and in February it introduced a surge-pricing model that raises ticket costs at the busiest times of year.

In May, Disney announced that attendance slipped slightly at Disney World in the first three months of 2016 compared to 2015, but higher per-guest spending – pricier tickets, higher merchandise sales and higher hotel rates – brought an overall revenue gain of 4 percent.

“If revenue is up and attendance is down, the new pricing model seems to have had the intended effect,” said Levine.

Another way Disney manages crowds is by incentivizing guests to visit during off-peak periods. The theme park schedules popular events like half-marathons and the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival at slower times of the year, according to Bob Sehlinger, author and executive publisher of The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World.

But the biggest change in line management came in 2014, when Disney World introduced My Disney Experience, a planning system to replace its old paper ticket system. “It was a sea change in the way that the queues are managed at Disney World,” Sehlinger said.

How to manage your disney watchlist

Disney introduced MagicBands in 2014. Here, a Walt Disney World Resort guest uses the bracelet to enter the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. (The Walt Disney Company)

Estimated to have cost over $1 billion, My Disney Experience uses a smartphone app and MagicBand bracelets with embedded RFID chips that guests use to schedule ride times, character meet-and-greets, parade viewing, dining and more. And by using FastPass+ from home, guests can adjust their schedules as much as 60 days before they arrive.

“FastPass+ was predicated to force people to choose which park they would visit and to make reservations for rides and dining a long time in advance,” Sehlinger said. “If you’ve got tickets and have a FastPass+ reservation for an attraction in the Magic Kingdom three weeks from now, you’re going to be in the Magic Kingdom three weeks from now.”

So has the new system shortened lines?

For early planners, the answer seems to be yes. If you use the app and reserve ride times in advance, you are guaranteed a reasonably short wait for up to three attractions in a single park. At your designated time, you just enter the attraction’s shorter FastPass+ line and bypass the longer standby line.

But for day visitors who arrive without reserved ride times, the day can be very frustrating, said Wills, who laments the days when she could spontaneously pick which attractions to visit. “Now if you just show up at the parks, it’s very likely that all of the FastPass+ opportunities are booked for the most popular attractions. If you don’t plan ahead, you will miss out.”

“The new FastPass+ system rearranged the traffic flow within the parks,” said Sehlinger. “It used to be, with the old system, that you could walk on some less popular attractions, such as It’s a Small World, and any number of other attractions, any day, any time, and there would never be a queue.

“The FastPass+ reservation system now includes attractions that never needed FastPasses before. There’s been a redistribution of the traffic flow throughout the parks, and now there are longer stand-by queues for everything.”

“Standby wait times do seem to be longer these days,” said Wills. “I walked by Toy Story Mania yesterday and there was already a 120-minute wait at 11 a.m. That’s crazy, but that’s also a very popular attraction.”

The takeaway? Here are a couple of tips for avoiding standby lines:

Plan ahead. Use My Disney Experience to book attraction times with FastPass+.

Get to the park when it opens. Early risers can probably ride a top attraction at least once, and maybe twice, without needing a FastPass+.

As for Kerrey’s suggestion that the TSA take line management tips from Disney?

Said Levine, “That’s probably not a bad idea.”

If everyone is unable to gain access to a Premier Access title, consider waiting for that title to become free for all Disney+ subscribers to watch. For example, Mulan is currently a Premier Access title but will be available to watch on Disney+ starting December 4, 2020, at no additional cost.

Trakt helps keep a complete history of every TV show and movie you’ve ever watched. Learn how to quickly and accurately fill in your watched history.

The easiest way to fill up you watched history is by automatically scrobbling & syncing with your media center. Trakt supports Kodi, Plex, Netflix, MediaPortal, Emby, Infuse, and more. Your profile updates in real time as you watch something and automatically adds to your watched history when you’re done watching.

Most media center plugins also analyze what you’ve previously watched, then sync everything to and from Trakt. It will even sync multiple plays and preserve the exact date and time for each play. Very handy if you’ve been using a media center to watch everything, even before you started using Trakt. Check out the apps page for more info.

Another way to indicate you’re watching something right now is to check in via the website or a mobile app. Think of check ins as a manual scrobble, it still updates your profile in real time and automatically adds to your watched history when you’re done watching. This definitely comes in handy when watching live TV or a movie at the theater.

Once you click a check mark, the item will be added to your watched history with the current date and time. If you want to be more specific, click and hold the icon and you’ll be asked When did you watch this? Choose right now to use the current date and time. Choose on release date to use the original date and time the episode first aired or the movie initially premiered. This is especially useful when backfilling old TV shows and movies you’ve previously watched. When adding a show or season, each episode will be added using its original air date.

If these quick options don’t work for you, choose other date and specify the exact date and time you watched the item. When adding a show or season, every episode will be added using your specified date and time.

Sometimes you need to remove plays from your watched history and that’s easy to do. Click a watched check mark again and you’ll get a prompt confirming you want to remove all plays for that item. Remove individual plays from your history page. Just click the check mark and there will be an option to only remove the single play.

By default, you’ll be asked When did you watch this?, but you might not want to answer that each time. You can turn on a quick mode under you global settings. This makes a single click add to your history quickly (you choose if it should use today’s date or the release date) and a long click bring up the question. Works great on mobile too with a tap or long press.

Over the past few days, we’ve been in a whirlwind of Disney Genie, Genie+, and Individual Lightning Lanes!

    ©Genie

We’ve been trying to test Disney World’s new system in every way possible, working out the kinks and answering all of the FAQs! And one thing we’ve been asked quite a few times so far is — how does Genie+ work with multiple guests in one party?

If you have purchased Disney Genie+ for the day that you’re in the parks and someone else in your party has it added to their ticket as well (no matter how many people that is), you’ll be able to see their name and avatar when you try to make plans.

How to manage your disney watchlist©Disney

Then, when making your Genie+ Lightning Lane choices, you can add the eligible guests to your plans, given that their plans don’t interfere with the ones you’re trying to make. You don’t have to make the same plans for everyone in your party, as you can choose how many people you’d like to include.

How to manage your disney watchlist©Disney

Once you select the members of your party, you’ll be taken to a screen to confirm your choices. It’ll list the attraction, the park, the Lightning Lane return time, and everyone that was chosen for the reservation. If everything looks good, hit the “continue” button to confirm.

How to manage your disney watchlist©Disney

And voila! You have a Genie+ Lightning Lane reservation for multiple guests! You’ll be taken to a confirmation page, and then the Lightning Lane time will show up on your account until it is redeemed.

How to manage your disney watchlist©Disney

You’ll be able to see this selection on both the Tip Board and My Day sections of the app. Under the selection, you’ll even see the option to add another guest if there’s someone you forgot.

How to manage your disney watchlist©Disney

But what if someone changes their mind? Well, you can cancel their reservation if you’d like!

How to manage your disney watchlist©Disney

Once you remove the guests that don’t need the Lightning Lane, make sure to check your updated confirmation to see that everything looks correct. Then, you’re good to go enjoy your ride or show! (Don’t worry, you can still add the guests back to the plans if they change their mind again.)

How to manage your disney watchlist©Disney

It’s important to keep in mind that your ability to secure Lightning Lane return times does not depend on the number of people that you have in your party.

A good way to think about it is by comparing it to the old paper FastPass system. When you walked up to a machine, it would say “now distributing 10AM-11AM” (or another time) and it didn’t matter whether you had 2 people or 10 people in your party, everyone who was getting their FastPasses at that time got the same return window.

How to manage your disney watchlistLightning Lane Entrance

Disney Genie+ and Individual Attraction Selections allow you to make plans for up to 12 people at a time and it is always showing the next available return time in the app. So, you won’t have any advantage to getting the “best” Lightning Lane return windows or be able to tackle more rides with Lightning Lanes if you have fewer — it’s all an even playing field!

Disney Plus is a great streaming service if you are a fan of Marvel movies, Star Wars and animated characters. However, if you were among the early adopters of the service, then you should know that the free trial period is set to expire soon. If you are thinking that you can cancel your subscription anytime via the app, then you should know that it is not that easy to cancel your Disney Plus subscription. Thus, you shouldn’t leave it until the last moment.

Why cancel your Disney Plus subscription?

One reason why you might want to cancel your Disney Plus subscription is that the service is streaming The Simpsons in a cropped letterbox 16:9 format. Although the company said it would fix the issue next year, not many will want to wait until then.

Another reason could be because you didn’t find the service worth continuing. Some users may have subscribed to Disney Plus only to compare it with their existing streaming service. Such users may want to cancel if they find that their present service is better than the new one.

Other users may have subscribed only for the free trial period. They never had any intention to continue with the service, and thus, they will be canceling their membership.

Disney Plus offers a seven-day free trial before it will start to charge you $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year. Thus, those who subscribed to the service for about a week will have their free trial end soon. It is recommended that such users cancel the service a day before the expiration.

If you are worried that by canceling the service early, you will lose access to the remaining free days, then rest assured that you will still be able to use the service for the full seven-day free-trial period. If after canceling the subscription, you feel that you should re-subscribe, there is always the option to renew. However, you will be charged as the free trial is only a one-time deal.

How to cancel a Disney Plus subscription

The way to cancel your Disney Plus subscription will depend on how you signed up. You can’t cancel the subscription through the Disney app. Rather you will have to use a web browser. Even if you try to use the app to cancel the subscription, it will take you to the web browser. However, if you subscribed to the app via an in-app purchase on iOS or Android, then you will have to cancel from the same platform.

First, let’s see the steps to cancel Disney Plus subscription using a browser:

    1. Open www.disneyplus.com on any browser on your PC or smartphone.
    2. Log in to your Disney Plus account with your username and password.
    3. Select your profile icon and then click or tap “Account.”
    4. Select “Billing details” and then click or tap “Cancel Subscription.”
    5. Confirm your decision to cancel the subscription by selecting “Complete Cancellation.”

That’s it. You will now be taken to a new screen asking you the reason you want to cancel your Disney Plus subscription. You can choose from several available options, including “technical issues,” “I couldn’t find anything to watch,” “I only signed up for the free trial” and more.

Now let’s see the steps to cancel a Disney Plus subscription using the iPhone settings:

    1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
    2. Tap your name at the top and then select “Subscriptions.”
    3. Tap on Disney Plus and then tap “Cancel Subscription.”

Now, let’s see the steps to cancel the Disney Plus subscription using the Play Store:

    1. Go to the Play Store on your Android phone
    2. Tap on the Menu (three stacked lines) and then select “Subscriptions.”
    3. Select Disney Plus and then tap “Cancel subscription.”

    A rocky start

Disney Plus officially launched a couple of weeks ago in the U.S., Canada and the Netherlands and on Nov. 19 in Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico. A day after the initial launch, the company announced that over 10 million users signed up for the service.

The service has had a rocky start with users reporting all sorts of technical issues on launch day. Even a week after the launch, the company said it was still getting a high volume of calls from customers facing issues with the service. The issues raised by the users include being unable to log in to the service or problems with some specific content or features. Although analysts expected Disney to address the issues soon, users are still reporting plenty of them.

“At the moment we are receiving a high volume of customer cases,” the company said in a tweet earlier this week in replay to a user complaint.

Disney also told many users it is “working around the clock to resolve any issues.”

How to manage your disney watchlist

Although Disney+ is still not officially available in South Africa, there is a workaround for accessing the video streaming service in South Africa.

The country and the rest of the African continent are not currently included on Disney’s launch calendar, which means the service will likely only arrive in 2022 or later.

With the second season of the service’s The Mandalorian now in full swing, many local Star Wars fans will be turning to torrent sites to pirate new episodes of Din Djarin and Baby Yoda’s adventures.

Fortunately, VPN experts Wizcase have compiled a step-by-step guide for subscribing to Disney+ in unsupported countries.

The key to getting Disney+ to work is to fool the service into thinking you are accessing it from the US or another supported region, which can easily be achieved by using a reputed Virtual Private Network (VPN).

However, the biggest hurdle is that you have to use a US-based payment method to subscribe to the service as well.

Below are the steps you need to follow to get Disney+ to work on either an Android or iOS device in South Africa.

    Choose your VPN

The first critical tool you will need is a VPN with support for US servers.

While there are a plethora of free VPNs available, many of these don’t work properly and often have dodgy privacy policies which allow them to make revenue by selling your data to third parties.

It is therefore recommended that you choose one of the top-rated paid-for VPNs, which include services like:

    • ExpressVPN – From $6.67 (R105) per month
    • NordVPN – From $3.71 (R58) per month
    • SurfShark – From $2.21 (R35) per month
    • CyberGhost – From $2.25 (R35) per month
    • IPVanish – From $3.25 (R51) per month

In addition, it’s advisable to purchase your VPN subscription directly from the provider’s website, as certain services won’t offer refunds if bought through another platform – like the App Store.

Once you are connected to your chosen US server, you can follow the steps indicated below to get Disney+ in South Africa.

    Android devices

    1. Buy a US Google gift card

Next, head to Amazon.com and purchase a US Google gift card to be used as your payment method.

Although a Disney+ subscription is priced at only $6.99 (R110), the minimum card value available is $25 (R392).

Alternatively, you could risk using grey market key site G2A.com to buy a $10 gift card, although this offers no guarantee of working.

The code for this gift card can be sent to your chosen email address upon checkout.

    2. Create another Google account

In order to use the gift card, you will be required to create a new Google account. You can do this by going to your device’s settings, opening Google Settings and choosing “Add another account”.

    3. Redeem the gift card

Redeem the gift card by opening up the Google Play Store while logged into your new account. For this, you will have to enter a US phone number and postcode.

While you could technically use any US number you find on the web, it may be more responsible to use a purchased virtual US phone number.

    4. Download Disney+ and start watching

The final step is to download and install the Disney+ app, and create your account. The app will allow you to choose Google Play credit as a payment method.

Ensure that you are connected to the VPN throughout this entire process.

    iOS devices

The workaround for Apple devices is slightly more elaborate, but also requires the user to be connected to a US server via a VPN and to log out of an Apple account if it has South Africa or an unsupported region as its location.

From there, the following steps need to be followed:

    1. Create a US Apple ID on the Apple website
